An Hero.
AMY BLUE:
We are hard at work on the new album, which is called either A Hero For Our Time, or A Hero Of Our Time. We don’t know which as Simon hasn’t corrected us (he chose the title.)
Nine songs were recorded in January of this year (I know, I know, it’s July already), with a further four…five…six… recorded this week. The songs were written between...

ON THE PLEASURE OF HATING REVIEW: Greenman Blog →
“It’s a great offering, raucousness tempered with melody, brooding without descending into self-absorbed and enough knowledge of musical dynamic to make it both listenable and still often throw in a curve ball.”

TWIFDR002: TRICYCLIC LOOPER - Apocryphal Condiments
Written and recorded in a confined space, the lo-fi epic that marks TRICYCLIC LOOPER’s first release summons the ghost of Elliot Smith, the esoteric sounds of Guided By Voices and the melancholic pulses that live in Amy Blue and serves them up with old HP sauce and a glass bottle of ketchup where you have to get the knife in right to the...

FALL/NEW RELEASES
The late release of TRYCYCLIC LOOPER’s debut EP will be happening very soon. We’re just finishing up the artwork for it.
AMY BLUE’s ‘On The Pleasure of Hating’ is still in the recording stages after they had to scrap a recording session due to buggered microphones and swearing. If you need an idea what it’s going to sound like, it’s a mash up of the first...

Storm the Charts: Random blog praise →
“AMY BLUE on the other hand, is damned good. “The Yellow House” could have been made by Nirvana at their height. Sadly the singer’s voice isn’t quite as good as Kurt Cobain’s but that really tells us the standard we’re thinkign about now doesn’t it. I’m doing the poor guy down because he doesn’t sound as good as Kurt. how Could...

TWIFCD002 TRACKLISTING / Pavement Ist Rad...
If you attended the PAVEMENT IST RAD event at the Brixton Windmill today and picked up one of the lovely compilations there, you may have noticed that some of them didn’t have a full tracklisting on. That’s because it was a rather rush job.
Tracks 6-10 are originals:
6. ACE BUSHY STRIPTEASE - Adam Jackson Spreads Like Wildfire
7. MEN CALL HIM MISTER - Cabin Fever
8. NO PLATO -...

Quiet/Loud.
The label has been very quiet for a few months, but not down to inactivity.
AMY BLUE have been in the studio crafting songs for their next two releases: the first of which will be a free EP of all new material, following a few months later by a second longer release. Both will be digital only, and at the moment the band has no less than 16 new tracks in the making.
AMY BLUE will also be...

At least they aren’t Friday 28th August’s AN HERO.
Review: David Winstanley @ Bearded Magazine →
“It exudes confidence, fun and is not dour and self-serious drivel. It is an album of energy and innocence, a kind of delightful, flagrant wail of self-joy that sometimes spills itself too much, but is just laughs and smiles, and carries on playing.”

“That said, the band launch into some old fashioned US pop rock. But if they sound like something from the 80s, that’s well intended because this is a high concept weekend which mixes the old with the happening now. Ormsby has picked 11 other UK bands to play alongside his on condition they take on one of the bands that features in Our Band Could Be Your Life, a classic book that...

Review: Lyle @ Dans Le Mur... Du Son →
“Un excellent cocktail donc? Oui, quand il marche, ce qui est le cas pour le sublime ‘The End of the World’ qui fait commencer l’album sur les chapeaux de roues, au risque de rendre la suite un peu décevante, le très féroce ‘The Yellow House‘ ou le très entraînant ‘Not on My Watch’.”
